Denis Bilunov is a Russian politician, writer, and journalist.Bilunov helped organize the Marches of Dissent from 2006 to 2008, and was one of the creators of the Solidarity movement, having led the Moscow branch since 2011. He was creator and first editor-in-chief of the Kasparov.ru website from 2005 to 2007. Bilunov was an organizer of the Anti-Seliger opposition forum,and is currently a host on Network Public Television.Bilunov graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in history. Since 1999, he has worked with democracy advocate Garry Kasparov. Bilunov is one of the leaders of the Solidarnost movement, a Russian political movement founded in December 2008 by a number of well-known members of the opposition movement, including Kasparov and Boris Nemtsov. Bilunov has been a staunch critic of Vladimir Putin’s government and has been active in the “Putin Must Go” campaign. Bilunov has also been active in United Civil Front, a social movement that is part of “The Other Russia,” a coalition of organizations that oppose Putin’s regime. He is also aco-founder of the Party of December 5, an opposition party repeatedly denied official registration by the government.
