Badiucao (巴丢草)

Badiucao is one of the most popular and prolific political artists from China. Using his creative dissent, he confronts a variety of global social and political issues head-on, and boldly challenges censorship and dictatorship. Badiucao currently lives in-exile in Australia. Badiucao’s artwork has highlighted the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s lies and human rights abuses by raising awareness for Hong Kong’s pro-democracy movement, the Uyghur genocide, repression in Tibet, and the CCP’s censorship of the coronavirus pandemic. His art has expressed support for Taiwan’s democracy, and shined a spotlight on pro-democracy demonstrations in Thailand and Burma as well.
