
Afua Hirsch is a Ghanaian-British journalist, barrister, and human rights activist. Hirsch Is currently the West Africa correspondent for The Guardian and was previously the newspaper’s legal affairs correspondent in the U.K. and headed The Guardian Law website. After receiving a degree in politics at the University of Oxford and a law degree from BPP Law School,Hirsch practiced law in criminal defense, public, and international law. Hirsch frequently publishes commentaries on a diverse range of subjects, appears regularly in radio and TV broadcasts, and speaks widely on the media, diversity, and justice. She Has also worked in development in 18 West African countries. In late 2013, SkyNews appointed Hirsch as their Social Affairs and Education Editor.
