Zineb El Rhazoui

Moroccan-French journalist

Zineb El Rhazoui is a Moroccan-born French human rights activist and former columnist for the satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo. She co-founded the pro-democracy, pro-secularism movement MALI before joining Charlie Hebdo in 2011. In 2013, she co-authored the comic book “The Life of Mohamed” with murdered Charlie Hebdo editor Stéphane Charbonnier and published the book “Destroy Islamic Fascism” in 2016. In 2015, she received thousands of death threats from ISIS supporters. In 2017, she was the subject of a documentary titled “Nothing is Forgiven,” which was showcased at the 2018 One World Film Festival in Prague. In 2019, she was awarded the Prix Simone Veil, and in 2021, she was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.
