Interim program coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, Committee to Protect Journalists

Yeganeh Rezaian is the interim program coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa at the Committee to Protect Journalists. Previously, she was the Tehran correspondent for Bloomberg News and the United Arab Emirates’ newspaper, The National. She was a fellow at Harvard’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy. She appeared on “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” and CNN’s “United Shades of America.” In 2014, she and her husband, Jason, were arrested and imprisoned in Iran’s Evin prison. She spent 72 days behind bars, all of them in solitary confinement.
