Gaëlle Borgia is a Pulitzer Prize-winning Malagasy journalist and human rights defender renowned for her investigations exposing public corruption and human rights abuses. She’s been a correspondent for various international news outlets such as the AFP, TV5 Monde, Arte, France 24, and The New York Times. In 2020, she won a Pulitzer Prize for her investigation into the influence of dark Russian money in Madagascar’s 2018 presidential election, alongside her colleagues at The New York Times. In July 2021, she suffered threats and a smear campaign from the government over her report exposing famine in the south of the island. In 2022, she won a One World Media award, and in 2023, she won a Rory Peck Award for her coverage of the food crisis in Madagascar.
