The Pressure of Oppression is a collection of essays discussing the topics that are the causes, manifestations, and consequences of oppression. This book goes against the pessimism, fatalism and wait-and-see attitude in which oppressed people are immersed and which prevent them from rising up against their oppressors. Farida Bemba Nabourema also dissects in this book certain methods used by oppressors to subjugate and maintain their victims under their yoke. Nabourema, through thirteen essays, incites revolt against oppression; something which first occurs through the revolt of the oppressed against their condition.
