Olga González is a human rights activist from Venezuela. In 2017, her husband was murdered by the security forces of the Venezuelan regime while he was participating in a peaceful protest against the policies of dictator Nicolas Maduro. Shortly after his death, she began her advocacy work, eventually leading to the sentencing of six police officers involved in her husband’s murder. Months later, she founded the Committee of Venezuelan Victims and the Leonardo González Barreto Foundation, organizations that aim to empower and build resilience in victims of human rights violations in Venezuela.
