Mads Brügger is a Danish investigative journalist, television host, and filmmaker known for his unorthodox and comedic approach to exposing corruption and human rights violations, particularly in countries under authoritarian rule. He is a practitioner of what he calls “performative journalism,” a blend of performance art and investigative journalism resulting in outrageously entertaining films that ridicule corrupt power abusers. In addition to his work in film, Brügger co-founded and edited VIRUS, an investigative journalism magazine, and Döner, the first Danish magazine for second-generation Muslim immigrant boys. He has worked in radio and hosted several shows, including “Den 11. Time” on Danish television channel DR2.
